Position Overview

The People and Development Operations Analyst plays a crucial operations role supporting the People community and by extension the broader organization through the effective development of tools, processes and systems that enable the employee lifecycle through operational excellence and efficiency.  The Analyst is responsible for the functional support and maintenance of the Workday Human Capital Management system, as well as other systems supported by the People Operations team. This position serves as a point of contact and subject matter expert for functional areas within the HCM system. This role is responsible for ensuring data integrity, testing, changes, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities and supports HCM upgrades, patches, testing, and other technical projects as assigned.

The Analyst People Lifecycle Operations North America plays a crucial role in supporting the North American People Community by ensuring a thorough understanding of the intersectionality between, people processes, principals, and technology and the impact on employees and managers of people. This role will work in partnership with cross-functional teams to drive the execution of Employee Lifecycle processes for North America.  

  • Point of contact for all North American People Lifestyle inquiries and support requests for systems used in Employee Lifecycle operations team, ensuring timely understanding and responses to all employee life-cycle activities including onboarding, off-boarding, and compliance as needed.  
  • With an advanced knowledge of Workday HCM, support to troubleshoot and resolve data corrections, business process escalations and service requests. Obtain solutions for inquiries or route to appropriate People Partners to assure proper closure of all inquiries in a timely fashion.  
  • Partner with cross functional business areas as needed (Payroll, Benefits, WFM, IT, Retail Teams, People Partner Generalists) to support errors and process implications.   
  • Functional owner and direct point of contact for Work Authorization for New/Re-hires and re-verification; ensuring timely completion documents as needed to ensure compliance standards in partnership with People Partner Generalists and Retail Store teams 
  • Functional ownership of LawLogix/Equifax Compliance platforms, tools, processes, and resourcesEnsure compliance through regular audits and communication with People Partners and Store Teams as needed. 
  • Point of contact for Iron Mountain and GRM for North America employee files storage.  
  • Supports Manager, People Lifecycle Operations, North America in regular business reviews to understand needs and opportunities to ensure alignment on priorities and performance for employee lifecycle processes and core data elements, provides meeting recaps and notes as needed.  
  • Own the development and maintenance of detailed documentation for systems processes, workflows, reference materials, principals, and guidelines within role responsibilities to support user training and standard operating procedures.  
  • Follow established procedure for the processing and handling of all incoming inquiries, regardless of media, including but not limited to responding timely to email, postal mail, electronic documents (E-faxes, E-mails, Post Mail etc.).  
  • Through a thorough understanding of the employee lifecycle, recommend process and system improvements ensure efficiency and optimal system functionality 
  • Conduct regular HCM data audits to ensure data integrity across all People Systems for North America and work with cross functional partners to resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner 
  • Utilize, build & edit Workday reporting as needed to support role responsibilities 
  • Other duties as assigned; essential duties may change depending on business needs. 
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Required Skills  
  • Must have a working knowledge of Workday HRIS and other HR-related software and tools. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Workday processes, domains, data structures and reporting functional for core HCM systems  
  • Experience in maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting various HR systems preferred.  
  • Ability to understand the connections between data flow & business processes.  
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot table, V/X Lookup), Microsoft Suite Advanced Skills, SharePoint 
  • Understanding of time and attendance/payroll systems (preferred by not required 
  • Experience in Retail environment preferred.  
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment. 
  • Ability to provide solutions to resolve problems and communicate effectively. 
  • Possess and maintain a positive and inquisitive attitude with excellent follow through on issues. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
