Position Overview

Support role for Fabric Development team with daily interaction with Design, Merchandising and Product Management teams.  Daily communication with mills and overseas offices to facilitate and track timing of fabric developments, proto yardage, labdips, sample yardage to adhere to corporate calendar deadlines.  Sourcing of fabric qualities in region that meet seasonal design needs based on Brand aesthetic, price and testing requirements.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Daily communication with Design on seasonal fabric needs – Develop/Counter source and manage all adopted fabrics from tailoring, proto and sampling stages with support of regional offices. 
  • Creation and maintenance of fabric tracker – Labdip orders, proto yardage, sample yardage, fty allocation with adherence to calendar deadlines. 
  • Manage seasonal fabric chart and raw material library.
  • Help support in the development of raw materials, managing and adhering to calendar timelines to meet on-time deliverables and collaborating with cross-functional teams on raw material strategies.
  • Attend Costing, Status, Proto Review and Post Market Mtgs with CFT partners to advise fabric pricing, leadtime, ETA’s and MOQ’s
  • Attend domestic fabric fairs and mill fabric appointments to review current collections, trends and fabric technologies. 

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

 

  • College Degree in Textiles or Fashion related field preferred
  • Proficient in Airtable, Outlook, PLM systems
  • Strong working knowledge of fabric specifications, constructions, weaves, finishes dyeing techniques.
  • Photoshop / Illustrator experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and follow-up.
  • Ability to navigate a fast paced work environment with positive, motivated outlook.  
  • Understanding of Ralph Lauren Corp and Lauren Brand aesthetic
