Position Overview
The candidate’s responsibility is to provide timely and accurate sales and margin planning and forecasting; comprehensive topline inventory planning and reporting; development and articulation of impactful performance driving business strategies; provide fact based advice to business stakeholders in the area of sales, margin and inventory and preparing ad-hoc analysis and presentations. Overtime will be required at times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Analyzing sales and margin data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions. Establish and track metrics to evaluate the success of IT initiatives. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and recommend adjustments to strategies or processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the annual budgeting process by gathering input from various departments and ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Developing and maintaining planning models to forecast sales related metrics.
- Reporting: Preparing regular reports and presentations for senior management that summarize findings, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing insights on operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Working closely with finance, merchandising, retail, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on business objectives and strategies.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with IT and business leaders to develop long-term strategic plans that align technology initiatives with business objectives. Assess the impact of technology on overall business strategy.
- Market Research: Conducting market research to understand competitive dynamics, customer preferences, and economic factors affecting the APAC regions.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Performing ad-hoc analysis as needed to support decision-making processes.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SAP, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Oracle)
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to interact with various stakeholders
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, financial planning, or a related field.
- Understanding of the retail or store planning industry can be beneficial
- Experience working with various departments such as marketing, operations, and IT to align business strategies
