Position Overview

This role will focus on delivering accounting, internal controls and finance process support on finance initiatives and business driven strategic projects.  

This role partners with and supports regional finance teams and business partners and work directly on a wide range of projects and initiatives including mapping and implementation of finance processes and controls for new business initiatives and supporting process improvement / automation.  

The role reports directly to the Regional Finance Controller and will partner closely with the regional Finance Leads and Managers across various functional areas - and will have high exposure to strategic, value-add finance and business driven initiatives key to our vision and the Company’s growth strategy (i.e. Retail, ECOM, Concession, Wholesale). 

The successful candidate will have exposure to all functional areas of EMEA regional finance team, work directly with regional finance leadership team and will have great development and career opportunities. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Finance Projects, Initiatives, Process Improvement:

  • Finance Projects: Key team member focused on delivering regional finance projects and initiatives including implementation of new Finance tools, automation, process improvement, etc
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: partner with functional area finance teams to review existing process, pain points, identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to address identified process breakdowns, issues, inefficiencies, etc.

Business Driven Projects and Initiatives:
  • Partner with Finance Leads and teams to provide accounting, internal control and finance process support to drive successful integration of new finance processes for strategic business driven projects covering various key areas:
  • Ecommerce: expansion of business to new markets, various new ways of selling using new technologies and business models
  • Ralph Lauren Home, Watches & Jewelry: business growth and new business strategies business, evolution of our concession and consignment business
  • Hospitality: expansion of café and restaurant business with new business models and partnerships around the region
  • Documentation of new finance process flows, journal entries, internal controls, reconciliations, system interfaces, etc
  • Support change management and training of functional area Finance teams to ensure smooth transition of new processes to relevant teams following the project completion

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Regional Finance teams (i.e. Inventory, Accounting, Sales Audit) and business leads on various teams (Ecommerce, Home, Hospitality, Retail, Wholesale)

Education and Experience:

  • 7+ full strategic cycles of experience in Finance (i.e. Accounting, Internal/External Audit, Finance Projects, etc.)  
  • Experience working in a dynamic, high pace environment with exposure to international companies
  • Proficiency in Excel and solid understanding of accounting, internal controls, finance processes, projects
  • PA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
