Position Overview
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greets customers and takes orders; processes cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages according to brand specifications and customers’ requests.
- Serves prepared foods and pastries.
- Delivers customer service to exceed customers' expectations by responding to guest needs with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrates the ability to multitask and remain calm during periods of high volume, keeping the store operating to standard and setting a positive example for the team.
- Maintains the appearance of the location, ensuring products are stocked at appropriate levels and all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Keeps equipment operating by following all operating instructions.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organizational standards and sanitation regulations.
- Communicates effectively with store management regarding store, employee, and customer needs.
- Communicates customer feedback to managers and recommends new menu items.
- Maintains a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality throughout the seasonal assignment.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- Several years of experience as a barista or in a related position.
- NYC Food Handler’s Certification.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays, based on seasonal business needs.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 lbs.
- Passion for coffee.
- Passion for hospitality and guest service.
- Outgoing and energetic disposition.
- Polished and stylish presence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with various POS systems is preferred.
