Position Overview
Individual will have hands-on involvement as a member of RL’s North America Corporate accounting team, playing an integral role in its general ledger (GL) Record-to-Report process, with a key focus on cash and other treasury-related transactions. Individual will also have the opportunity to work closely with various corporate teams, including Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Regional Accounting, and Tax, exposing the individual to a variety of topics that enhance their learning experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
· Daily cash accounting, including monitoring/overseeing daily bank interface GL feeds, partnering with Treasury, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable teams to help address/resolve issues, and preparation of monthly cash account reconciliations
· Perform monthly accounting for North America’s investments portfolio and RL’s outstanding debt issuances
· Support month-end close process for certain other corporate functions by assisting with preparation of journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting FP&A teams with review of their results
· Assist with the quarterly accounting surrounding Ralph Lauren’s product licensing portfolio
· Assist with North America’s monthly foreign currency exchange process, including revaluations
· Partner with regional teams to assist with miscellaneous intercompany billings
· For key areas of responsibility, prepare quarterly financial reporting packages to support 10-Q and 10-K filings
· Assist with non-routine transactions, such as debt issuances, legal entity restructurings, share repurchases, and other ad-hoc accounting/shared service projects
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years accounting experience
- Experience with SAP a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with an attention to detail
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Desire to work in a team environment with various business partners
- Eagerness to learn, able to adapt to changing environment
