Position Overview

Located in London, UK, and a member of the Ralph Lauren FP&A team, the Analyst FP&A is responsible for management of Store Design (‘RLSD’) expenses across the Retail channels in EMEA (Factory Stores, Full Price Stores & Concessions).  This position reports to the Director, FP&A and will work together with key business partners and functional leadership to support the end to end financial processes for RLSD projects. This role will be responsible for project tracking/forecasting and streamlining processes/reporting as well as serving as the finance point of contact for the RSLD team and other key stakeholders (i.e. IT, AP, Deco, Logistics & Procurement).

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project tracking across all capital and temporary store buildout costs across our owned & operated stores

  • Frequent meetings with Project Managers (RLSD & non-RLSD) to update trackers and discuss opportunities and risks; ensure all trackers reconcile with forecast and actuals, by category; establish a track record of clear communication and sound follow up

  • Lead bi-monthly meetings with other partners including Partner/Wholesale RLSD, IT, AP, Deco and US stakeholders (i.e. RLS Deco) to review status of DTC Projects

  • Responsible for preparing Ariba cost report for review as well as monthly project forecasts to share with Retail FP&A

  • Distributes project budgets to all parties (both RLSD and non-RLSD budget owners i.e. IT, Deco, Facilities, Technology, Asset Protection, etc) including supporting conversion of approved budget in USD to local currency

  • Own end to end project reconciliation against original capital budget (‘CAR’) and closeout with Fixed Asset Team

  • Support Project Managers with project administration including raising POs in Ariba for more complicated orders including GC and Millwork

  • Supports consolidation of Wholesale Partner Stores & Corners for full view of EMEA project costs

  • Finance contact person for suppliers for finance /contract queries

  • Partner with procurement on bids, offers, and vendor comparisons

  • Partner with AP to ensure payment scheduling is adhered to (particularly on GC & Millwork)

  • Support ad hoc queries/analysis as well as inter-company recharges and vendor set up

  • Partner with manager to drive process efficiencies within PO management and reporting

  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships across divisional finance teams to promote teamwork and organizational alignment including sharing best practices across divisions

  • Anticipate needs of business partners and prioritize efforts to deliver results

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • University Degree in Finance/Accounting

  • Prior experience in Finance/Accounting; FP&A in a multinational or retail company preferred

  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills are required; high degree of accuracy with a strong attention to detail

  • Detail oriented with strong organization skills

  • Self-motivated, follow through with responsibilities and be accountable for results; ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment

  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with financial and non-financial partners across varying levels of management; strong communication skills

  • Mandatory: Advanced competency in Excel and other Microsoft applications

  • Preferred: Ariba, SAP, and Hyperion Essbase
