Position Overview
The localization assistant supports on daily and regular translation projects for product descriptions, content campaigns, and adhoc marketing requests.
Using their understanding of the translation and localization best practices they will ensure external language providers have all the information required to deliver high quality copy within the agreed timelines for the business.
In the role, they will consistently develop their understanding of the RL brand and localization needs of various internal stakeholders to enable them to make and implement improvements to the localization strategies in place.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage regular translation project to ensure delivery on time against SLA.
- Support linguists by providing context, project information and brand guidelines to support quality.
- Maintain established translation tools, workflow, style guides, glossaries for a clear and consistent approach to translation.
- Review source content briefed in by internal stakeholders and clarify any points that may prove a challenge for localization
- Remain up to date with planned campaigns and enhancements to the RL experience and ensure linguists, external agency, and wider localization team are briefed in to ensure appropriate resourcing.
KPIS
- Percentage of products available – can the merchandising team push products live on the site? Goal is 100%
- Time to get products and campaigns live - against word count based SLAs agreed with vendor and with internal teams
- Quality – is copy in line with brand voice guidelines and if so, do these need updating/amending to ensure local relevancy at all times
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Experience of translation or localization project management considered a strong advantage.
Fluent in English with a second language desired.
Strong communication skills in English are a must.
Above all a passion for and curiosity in all things language, translation and cultural exchange.
Experience in Fashion/Retail/Ecommerce also an advantage.
