Position Overview

The successful candidate for this newly created position will oversee all US GAAP accounting, internal controls, statutory and tax reporting, and recurring statutory filing and compliance requirements for Ralph Lauren’s India operations.    The Manager will be responsible for establishing the Accounting function and implementing effective, efficient reporting and internal control processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Establish the Accounting function in the India operations
Provide accounting leadership and direction to internal and 3rd party team
Manage and execute the monthly close process
Prepare/review journal entries related to GL Accounting monthly close
Ensure all accounts are reconciled and supported
Prepare/review annual statutory financial statements and disclosures
Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of periodic tax and statutory filings
Coordinate with auditors and outsourcing partners to manage statutory audit
Maintain and review documented procedures and ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Work closely with Corporate Treasury, Corporate Tax and the banks to ensure proper level of funding for India operations
Work closely with FPA partner to provide transparent “no surprises” reporting to Management.
Identify and support process improvement and efficiency enhancement opportunities.
Assist with ad-hoc assignments and special projects as required.

Detail oriented and experienced in follow through and completion of projects

Education and Experience:

Multiple years of experience in finance, accounting and/or audit (mix of audit firm and private industry a plus)
Proficiency in Excel and solid understanding of general ledger applications
University degree in accounting, audit, finance
CPA / CA or equivalent
Knowledge of US GAAP / Indian statutory experience
