Position Overview

Supervise and lead the beverage service team in delivering exceptional coffee and hot beverages that meet Ralph Lauren's premium standards. Ensure consistent quality across all preparations while training and motivating team members to maintain the highest level of service excellence. Oversee guest interactions, ensuring the team effectively engages with customers through professional storytelling and educated recommendations from our curated beverage menu. Monitor and maintain beverage quality standards, coach staff on proper preparation techniques, and implement procedures that enhance the overall guest experience. Demonstrate and uphold Ralph Lauren's service philosophy while managing daily operations and team performance in the beverage service area.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee and hot beverage needs.

• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee and hot drink offering

• Discusses the story behind the coffee beans we use, informing

• Prepares and sells hot drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks.

• Generate revenue by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products

• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries for bar area

• Assist in staff scheduling operations, including roster management, shift coverage optimization, and coordination of time-off requests to maintain efficient workforce deployment and operational continuity.

• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

• Read checks clearly and orders are being processed accurately to reduce wastage

• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing correct uniform whilst working

• Have extensive knowledge on the menu, Know the menu and be able to offer recommendations.

• Accurately take food/beverage orders and deliver to guests in a timely manner.

• Ensure all drinks are prepared and are coherent with the company standards

• Utilise slow trade periods to check standards, refresh knowledge on the food and drink offering, and revising health & safety checks

• Fill in daily paperwork (opening closing checklists)

• Elevate the guest experience through link selling additional products when possible and/or suitable

• Assist in the training of new hires and ongoing training of current staff, ensuring everyone is familiar with the shop’s procedures, menu offerings, seasonal drinks and customer service standards.

• Always maintain a friendly and warm demeanour

•Provide feedback to staff, conduct performance reviews, and work with the team to improve efficiency and service quality.

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management

• Work to minimize waste and manage the cost of goods sold (COGS) by monitoring portions, inventory levels, and supplier pricing.

•Take on additional responsibilities or projects as assigned by the Manager, which may include event planning, menu development, or other strategic initiatives to improve the coffee shop’s operations

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

• Minimum of 1 strategic cycle in hospitality leadership or equivalent

• Having made fresh coffee and hot drinks 

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Be action orientated and solution driven to achieve results

• A desire to build relationships and promote team work
