Position Overview

Drive business objectives for the assigned geographical area, by leading and enabling store management teams to successfully generate revenue and positive operating profit. Ensure a high standard of excellence through exceptional customer service and brand elevation, while driving productivity. This role requires luxury retail expertise, understanding of brand and store operational excellence, and talent development for all store level positions.   

 

       The position will cover the assigned market territory of California. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive strategies to exceed customer expectation, drive financial success and increase profitability in stores of responsibility 
  • Identify market opportunities within District and partner with Head of Stores and other Corporate business partners to influence and achieve sales and margin goals, develop operating budgets, and monitor performance. Work with Buying, Planning, Allocation and Brand Image to elevate the brand product experience. 
  • Direct and influence the execution of Ralph Lauren’s promotional strategies and programs for District, assuring that they support Ralph Lauren's sales, marketing, and profit objectives. Regularly visit competition to maintain an awareness of store performance issues and market trends in assigned territory. 
  • Maintain a leadership role in Diversity and Inclusion groups, and community non-profit events

  • Recruit, develop, and retain high performing leaders across the District
  • Effectively coach, uphold accountability and manage performance by providing regular feedback to store leaders and in-store employees, addressing all opportunities. 
  • Support and empower store leaders to make decisions that align with our Ralph Lauren brand values and strategy 
  • Evaluate talent and manage succession planning within District; collaborate with peers and people business partners to establish recruitment strategies that deliver top talent and leverage strengths across the District and greater Ralph Lauren stores fleet to eliminate organization risk and ensure future financial success 
  • Forecast District staffing needs and build a proactive recruitment strategy  
  • Champion innovation and change, creating a psychologically safe environment that fosters a continuous growth and improvement mindset
  • Regularly seek feedback and actively engage in opportunities for continuous self-development. 
  • Store Performance 
  • Directly responsible for sales and profit performance in assigned District.  
  • Proactively drive key performance indicators to deliver financial and operational excellence.
  • Cascade brand direction and vision to store leadership in a clear and motivational manner.
  • Cultivate an environment focused on the delivery of exceptional customer service and the achievement of sales goals through the Selling and Service model.
  • Monitor and adhere to the District’s operational budgets.
  • Ensure a culture of shrink awareness across all stores. Oversee store shrink goals and influence the establishment and implementation of both new and existing loss prevention procedures. 
  • Effectively implement new Company policies, procedures, and programs within the District. 
  • Own census management for District and monitor store scheduling trends with store leadership to ensure overtime adherence and optimization of talent. 
  • Comply with all legal requirements and promote a safe and clean store environment

  • Create a clear, achievable, and inspirational strategy for the District that can be achieved through people and achieved through people and product taking effective corporate partnerships and demonstrating
  • flexibility, problem solving, action and accountability.
  • Support and works with Head of Retail Stores on overarching strategy to address business opportunities, enhancing overall District performance.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Strong business acumen and skillset which enables the management and staff to drive business goals. 

Ability to guide individuals toward goal achievement using inspiration, negotiation, teamwork/collaboration, motivation, and talent/leadership development skills, including the ability to lead dynamic teams. 

Outstanding and flexible verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the public. 

Technologically savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Has an aptitude to learn and embrace new systems solutions. 

Must possess exceptional leadership skills with the ability to train and lead others and hold them accountable for results.
