Position Overview
To ensure that incoming and outgoing merchandise are processed in an accurate manner according to company regulations and standards. Supervise the Shipping and Receiving department, ensuring that work is processed in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations, including supervision and coordination of staff workflows
- Plan and manage all inbound and outbound shipments, including returns
- Process and verify incoming merchandise deliveries against purchase orders
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for receiving, storing, and shipping materials
- Ensure proper handling, sorting, and storage of merchandise
- Monitor inventory accuracy and maintain detailed documentation
- Implement and enforce safety regulations, security procedures, and company policies
- Train and develop team members on proper procedures and protocols
- Coordinate with store management, vendors, carriers, and other departments
- Optimize back of house space utilization and workflow
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies
- Resolve discrepancies in shipments, deliveries, and vendor/carrier issues
- Manage department budget and expenses
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- 5+ years of shipping/receiving operations management experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Leadership and team management capabilities
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and safety requirements
- Physical ability to lift/move merchandise
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for three store operation
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and decision-making abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
