Position Overview
The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to perform inventory accounting responsibilities (journal entries, reconciliations etc) for certain regional processes as well as annual statutory financial statements for entities across the region. Additionally, the candidate will support functional area Managers with the team management of Bangalore based inventory accounting resources. The candidate will be responsible for providing accounting assistance in support of all facets of the closing and reporting process, streamlining procedures, and assisting in the ongoing review of the SOX internal control process, as well as provide support and all required documentation for internal and external audits. The candidate will be involved in a number of ad-hoc projects and will contribute to the development of continuous process improvement initiatives and best practices through leverage of technology and effective collaboration/communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support functional area Managers based in Europe with the team management of Bangalore based accounting resources
- - Prepare/review monthly detail reconciliations for various GL accounts for entities across the region.
- - Prepare US GAAP and statutory journal entries and liaise with auditors and resolve audit queries.
- - Support on reconciliation of sales and cogs of various channels.
- Prepare/review journal entries related to inventory accounting monthly close.
- - Prepare/review forecast submission for certain inventory and cogs budget lines.
- - Maintain and review documented procedures and ensure internal control compliance(SOX).
- Coordination with auditors and outsourcing partners to prepare and manage execution of European statutory audits
- Support internal and external audits (US GAAP, SOX and Statutory).
- Identify and support process improvement and efficiency enhancement opportunities.
- - Assist with ad-hoc assignments and special projects as required.
