Position Overview
The Sourcing Sr Associate will partner with the Americas Sourcing Lead and Managers to support our business development and programs in achieving our financial goals. Act as liaison to Product Management, design, planning, merchandising along with support to the Regional Team and DTC to further develop programs sourced in region. Assist team in delivering the vision by executing merchandising plan and functions for all categories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Assist Manager and Lead on planning, execution and communication of development strategy that meets financial goals
· Ensure clear understanding of design concept and technical packages from design handoff meeting; communicate and execute design concept to team, factories and suppliers
· Ensure production requirements are communicated clearly to all parties concerned
· Work on alternatives with factories to maximize the margin
· Attend proto reviews and follow up comments to factories throughout sample revisions
· Support negotiates with vendors for best competitive quotations and quality to achieve business objectives
· Perform effective and efficient communication between Fabric and PMT team on development, costing and buy process
· Ensure the sample submission and tracking for various approvals
· Work with both internal and external partners to ensure development process is meeting key development calendar deliverable dates
· Establish close liaison with major vendors and business associates
· Get involved in new technique development and work out alternatives with factories to maximize the margin and meet design requirements
· Monitor the timeline per Development calendar issued by Region
· Conduct a proactive risk assessment, identify high-risk areas which may impact on production and future business. Alert management and all relevant parties
· Keep the process flow transparent, organized and records on time in system. Maintain system update with best data integrity. Assist team in system data entry to achieve department deliverables
· Ensure partners are following defined SOP’s and workstreams
- Support adoption of ‘best practice’ - where it exists (e.g. in data standards, process & systems development)
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
· Relevant experience preferred (production and sourcing environment a plus)
· Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; able to build effective relationship and influence key partners with all levels
· Strong presence with the ability to interact business partners
· Analytical thinker and data literacy; meticulous and with strong follow up skills, able to work under tight timeline
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, assertive and organized
· Demonstrates a “can-do” approach in being proactive with work assignments
· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Power Point, Excel and Visio, and/or other relevant analytical tools
· Strong in data entry and validation
· Ability to read and understand tech drawings preferred
· Self-motivated, independent worker who enjoys a fast-paced dynamic work environment
· Good command of written and spoken English
