Position Overview


This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-performing Childrenswear team. This role is crucial in supporting the Buying team to achieve departmental financial goals and ensure the successful implementation of seasonal strategies from inception to in-store execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Seasonal Buy Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of selecting market-relevant and financially viable product ranges that align with departmental strategy and brand direction
  • Analyze business results to prepare for seasonal buys, drawing actionable insights from the analysis
  • Stay informed about the retail landscape; conduct competitive research on pricing, styles, and key messages, and translate findings into strategic actions
  • Prepare necessary documents and resources for major calendar meetings, including hindsight, buy review, and sign off
  • Oversee order management from initial unit entry to store delivery, collaborating with key stakeholders to monitor changes post sign-off, including style updates, MOQs, and delivery movements

Process & Systemic Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage Outlook and email to maintain the department's critical path
  • Ensure accurate delivery and purchase order management, clearly communicating order status, challenges, and opportunities to the wider team
  • Maintain meticulous data integrity and manage daily buying responsibilities, including building and maintaining tools and systems for deliveries, pricing, and order reconciliation. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners across Stores, Production, Merchandising, and Creative to ensure the department's critical path is maintained to the highest standard

  • Awareness of product trends and the current market landscape
  • Resilient, agile, and resourceful mindset, able to overcome challenges by focusing on solutions
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, both written and spoken
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Previous experience in a similar Buying, Planning, or Merchandising role is preferable
