Position Overview

The Asset Protection Officer (APO) is responsible for the detection, reporting, and deterrence of customer and associate activity that could result in a loss to Ralph Lauren. APOs are also responsible for ensuring a safe environment for all customers, associates, and vendors. APOs promote and monitor compliance with Ralph Lauren policies and procedures related to theft prevention, safety, and inventory control. The APO is also required to promote awareness and conduct training within various areas of operational execution.

In addition to these core duties, you will support building security by managing the Employee Entrance, overseeing incoming and outgoing deliveries and shipments with couriers, conducting bag checks as needed, ensuring vendors sign in and out with verified identities, and facilitating access control through the creation of access cards and management of office keys.

This position reports to the Asset Protection Manager or Asset Protection Lead.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·        Ensure safety of all customers and associates by promoting and ensuring operational compliance with all safety policies and procedures

·        Follow all company guidelines while conducting surveillance

·        Monitor the sales floor with keen attention to detail to detect and prevent potential internal and external theft.

·        Operate and monitor the store security/safety systems, including CCTV

·        Assist APM/APL in conducting internal theft investigations at their specific direction

·        Monitor facility/store access to deter and detect unauthorized removal of company assets

·        Manage Employee Entrance security, including monitoring access, verifying vendor identities, overseeing deliveries and shipments, conducting bag checks, and administering access cards and office keys.

·        Complete audits of operational, safety, and inventory control related procedures

·        Maintain relationships with local law enforcement and security

·        Complete all incident and investigation reports, and paperwork related to audits and shrink reduction programs; ensure reports are submitted to APM/APL accurately, professionally, and timely

·        Assist in the planning, execution, and reconciliation of inventory

·        Partner with stores in developing and executing shrink action plans and awareness programs

·        Develop partnerships with Store Management and Associates to increase awareness of shrink-related issues, safety, and other Asset Protection programs and initiatives

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

• Experience within a retail environment preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Professional demeanour with strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Excel)
• Working knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems preferred
• Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
• Ability to work day or evening hours, including weekends and holidays (early shifts may start at 06:30, and late shifts may extend past 21:00)
• Ability to work within strict time frames and deadlines
• Must be able to make quick, sound decisions in time-sensitive situations
• Must be able to stand and walk the sales floor for 6-8 hours per shift and able to lift/move objects 9kg or greater (as needed)
