Pay Range: The pay range for this job  is $18 - $26 per hour; actual pay is dependent on experience and geographic location. We will meet minimum wage and/or any other applicable legal pay requirements based on city, county, and state requirements.

Position Overview

The Alterations Administrative Assistant supports the daily operation of our Tailor Shop in our Flagship store locations. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless client experience and efficient workflow for our tailoring team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, luxury environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Client Coordination:
  • Greet clients and assist with appointment scheduling for fittings and alterations.
  • Maintain accurate records of client requests, garment details, and alteration timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding pick-up times, service updates, and special requests.
 
Administrative Support:
  • Manage daily workflow and calendars for tailors
  • Track and organize incoming and outgoing garments.
  • Maintain inventory of tailoring supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Prepare and file alteration tickets, invoices, and receipts.
 
Operational Efficiency:
  • Liaise between Sales Professionals, Tailors, and Management to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor turnaround times and prioritize urgent requests.
  • Support quality control by reviewing completed alterations for accuracy and presentation.
 
Customer Service:
  • Provide a warm, professional, and discreet experience for high-end clientele.
  • Handle client concerns or complaints with poise and escalate when necessary.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a retail, tailoring, or administrative role (luxury retail preferred).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or retail systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • High level of discretion and professionalism. 
  • Commitment to upholding Ralph Lauren’s brand standards and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Ability to maneuver around the sales floor, stock/dressing room, cashwrap and office; work around/with chemicals, lift up to 30 lbs. and climb moderately utilizing a ladder as trained under RL Health & Safety guidelines 
  • Ability to operate tailoring machinery, sit, stand, move and walk for multiple hours
