Position Overview

Partner with Quality Assurance Leadership in creating a robust supplier matrix for Ralph Lauren by evolving the existing matrix. Specifically working on programs and initiatives to reward the best suppliers with independence and autonomy. These programs address the implementation of industry best practices ensuring quality for Ralph Lauren customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create, implement and maintain a core competency checklist that drives alignment, both internally and externally to the expectations of a Ralph Lauren Supplier.
  • Ensure basic foundational expertise exists at the supplier level to ensure a Right First Time Approach.
  • After taking inventory and developing a clear picture of a corporate supplier’s current state, develop a curriculum to ensure operational excellence of said supplier.
  • Develop and implement a “continuous improvement” program for suppliers to elevate them from the “Vendor Quality Program” to the “Vendor Independence Program”.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • University degree in Industrial Engineering with 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • 3 to 4 years of apparel/non-apparel experience in fashion/retail sourcing office.
  • Operational experience in multinational companies.
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time (to Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, etc)
  • Strong quality and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering background.
  • Advanced skills in Factor Risk Assessment.
  • Advanced skills in Project Management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of business.
  • Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act confidently with risk and uncertainties.
  • Ability to work independently with self-discipline and self-motivation.
  • Good command of spoken and written English. Local language (depending on work location) would be an advantage.
