Pay Range: The pay range for this job is $65000 - $129225 annually; actual pay is dependent on experience and geographic location.

Position Overview

Intricately involved in the research, concept creation and design development of all Denim styles from concept to sales sample delivery and pre-production approval for Men's Polo. The main area of focus for this position is denim but the individual will at times research and work on woven bottoms throughout the season.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for designing and developing innovative, quality sales samples and bulk product. 
Partner with concept, design leads, merchandising, wash, fabric, trim, technical design, graphic & prints teams to ensure denim product is designed/developed in accordance with the calendar, quality, and cost requirements.
Inspire Senior design team through vintage research, market research, on-line and instore research plus social networking to gather new ideas for development. 
Evaluate design presentations and aim for them to be inspirational, clear and focused with a goal for design approvals. 
Prepare for design handoffs by gathering inspirational garments, fabric info, trims, fit references, and design work.
Create seasonal denim deliveries that adhere to line plans, and costing guidance of fabric, trims, details, wash, and development.
Partner with cross functional team members to achieve all design calendar deadlines and milestones. 
Make timely design decisions in fit, styling, details, and wash that adhere to RL aesthetic/principals with an eye for detail and quality execution for proto, sales samples, and production. 
Provide recaps of design meetings.
Create and maintain seasonal design paginations on VibeIQ. Keep design work updated and organized on VibeIQ and in the TEAMS folders.
Provide specific direction on execution of sales sample details to ensure highest quality aesthetic according to Ralph Lauren.
Execute tech pack developments and ensure proper execution/efficiency before hand-off.
Maintain organization of digital and physical design workspace, design keep samples, and inspiration samples.
Set the standard of communication and teamwork.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in Design with Denim & RW focus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Photoshop, Illustrator & Adobe XD.
  • Hand sewing, embroidery, patch and repair (Preferred)
