The candidate will oversee for our Outlet channel (PRO) the Boys category, the largest within the Childrenswear department, managing multiple product areas end to end, in full autonomy. From assortment strategy and product selection to investment build and OTB management, the candidate will balance creative vision with analytical rigor to optimize brand elevation, deliver commercial success, and support the broader Childrenswear business. Working very closely with the Childrenswear Manager and Lead in the establishment of the department strategies, the candidate is required to closely collaborate with Girls and Babies buyers to maintain a holistic view across genders, ensuring cohesive strategies and aligned messages. The ideal candidate will leverage prior experience in a Buying department to quickly adapt and step into the role, demonstrating strong ability to support and guide junior team members through both technical expertise and leadership skills.

1) Position Scope - Assortment Strategy & Product Selection
· Utilize Buying and Merchandising expertise to create Boys product strategies aligned with company goals, ensuring the assortment is brand-relevant and supports brand elevation.
· Evaluate, and summarize performance analysis on a seasonal basis, drawing top-line conclusions and actions to inform buys.
· Liaise regularly with key stakeholders across Stores, Production, Merchandising, and Creative to ensure go-to-market strategies are executed as intended.
· Responsible for curating effective distribution strategies for Boys that balance magic and logic, closely partnering with Girls and Baby owners for a holistic approach.
· Build and develop a strong understanding of the Boys Childrenswear customer, through regular competitor shops, store visits, and wider market research on trends, pricing, styles.
· Be proactive and vocal in different meetings with direct partners such as Trade, MPRs, Intent, Investment, providing a ‘go-forward’ approach and mindset to facilitate the Brand success in the long run.
2) Investment Build & OTB Management
- Partner with Planning to ensure the OTB aligns with financial goals and revenue KPIs for the Boys category.
- Forecast unit requirements to hit financial targets, balancing metrics like margin, sales revenue, and AUR.
- Trade the Boys category weekly, adjusting inventory levels based on performance and identifying areas of opportunity or risk.
- Oversee order management from initial entry through to delivery, ensuring accurate tracking and coordination with stakeholders.
- Ensure data integrity in all buying processes, addressing any discrepancies and escalating issues when necessary.
3) Team Input
- Collaborate with Girls and Babies buyers to support product selection, admin tasks, and daily operations.
- Lead communication with the wider Childrenswear team to ensure a unified strategy and approach across departments.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners to maintain the critical path and ensure timely execution.
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior team members, helping them develop their technical and strategic skills.
- Show ambition for managerial growth by contributing innovative ideas and driving team success.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Key Skills/Experience
- Previous experience in Buying, Planning, or Merchandising within Childrenswear or a related category is essential. PRO experience is a plus.
- Results-driven with a collaborative mindset and the ability to inspire and lead a team.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify commercial opportunities.
- Awareness of industry trends, competitors, and the retail landscape, especially in PRO environments.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, able to manage priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present key information and insights to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborative, supporting the wider team and fostering a positive, results-oriented environment.
- Resilient and adaptable, approaching challenges with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with experience using buying tools and systems.
