Ralph Lauren is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support the Buying Manager in building a profitable, trend-relevant assortment that reflects the brand DNA and achieves financial objectives. This role combines analytical insight with strong commercial instinct to develop balanced assortments, optimize OTB investments, and drive in-season performance. The Assistant Buyer will collaborate closely with global buying, merchandising, planning, and regional teams to ensure timely execution and maximize business results across regions
基本职责
- Analyze past performance, market trends, and competitor activity to inform seasonal strategy and identify commercial opportunities.
- Partner with the Planning team to allocate OTB effectively by class and category.
- Build a balanced assortment aligned with brand DNA, full-price trends, and regional needs.
- Collaborate with brand merchandising to develop new products that are suitable for the APAC market
- Work closely with US and EU buying teams to align on seasonal strategy and leverage global insights.
- Present assortment strategy to management for buy sign off.
- Lead post-buy handover presentations to communicate the seasonal strategy to Retail and BI teams.
- Support the end-to-end buy process from assortment confirmation to order placement.
- Ensure all orders are placed accurately and on time according to the global buying calendar.
- Determine regional retail pricing in line with strategy and margin objectives.
- Analyze and confirm size curves and product depth by market.
- Maintain system accuracy for all product, pricing, and buy information.
- Monitor weekly sales and stock performance to identify key opportunities, risks, and best/worst performers.
- Provide actionable recommendations on reorders, transfers, markdowns, and promotional strategies to maximize sell-through and margin.
- Partner with Planning to optimize OTB utilization and end-of-season inventory management.
- Collaborate with regional merchandising and BI teams to ensure strong floor execution and alignment with the seasonal strategy.
- Communicate regularly with Allocation to ensure timely delivery and sufficient depth of key items.
- Prepare and present business summaries highlighting key results, trends, and required actions to Buying and Planning management.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- 1+ years retail merchandising buying related experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify commercial opportunities based on analysis produced
- Highly organized and the ability to prioritize team work schedule based on broader business requirements
- Curious, willing to develop and solution-oriented
- Computer proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills in English both upwards to Senior Management and laterally to business partners both internal and external
- Proactive, collaborative and adaptable to work in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently within set business goals, working closely with senior business partners
