Position Overview

The Copywriter, Digital role is responsible for developing engaging, informative, and brand-appropriate content strategies and copy to elevate the customer experience (CX) and search engine optimization (SEO) for Ralph Lauren digital globally. 

As part of their SEO responsibilities, they will work with our global performance and content marketing teams along with our platform and creative design teams to execute a new strategy for optimizing RalphLauren.com within search. Their main goal will be to deliver elevated, brand-appropriate copy, enhancing Google visibility while balancing marketing needs and evolving algorithms. This is a priority project and will be their focus for the first five months. It requires a confident, versatile writer who can hit the ground running. They must be adept at mastering new brand voices and are able to deliver copy needs aligned with the brief quickly and accurately.

As part of their CX responsibilities, they will work with the product/platform development, information technology, customer experience, content marketing, and digital creative teams to develop content and write copy for digital products, such as Ralph Lauren.com and the Ralph Lauren App. As functionalities and information evolves across regions, they will be responsible for refining and developing CX messaging. The Copywriter, Digital will also lead copy for customer-focused brand initiatives, including hospitality, gifting, and stores.

When needed, they will support the digital copy team on the seasonal brand campaigns and special projects workstreams. They will be responsible for concepting content strategies and writing copy for each campaign across all digital platforms—site, email, social, and other digital marketing channels—in partnership with digital design and content marketing teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Write engaging, informative, and brand appropriate CX and SEO copy for Ralph Lauren’s digital products globally, including but not limited to RalphLauren.com and the Ralph Lauren App
  • Focus on executing the new SEO strategy within the first 5 months of hire, delivering search-optimized copy for the project quickly and accurately
  • Establish efficient end-to-end copy processes and workflows with cross-functional CX and SEO teams
  • Adapt CX and SEO copy and content as region-specific information and functionalities evolve
  • Advocate for copy best practices while balancing business demands and design/platform capabilities
  • Lead customer-focused brand initiatives, including but not limited to Hospitality, Gifting, and Stores
  • Support the digital copy team on seasonal brand campaigns and special projects where needed
  • Partner with content marketing, brand creative, and digital design to develop content strategies and optimal messaging to drive global business in line with the global corporate strategy
  • Partner with digital marketing and digital design teams to bring campaign and special projects strategies to life across digital creative
  • Write and edit copy for campaigns and special projects across site, email, social, and digital marketing
  • Present copy in internal reviews and meetings with senior leadership, assuming responsibility that feedback is absorbed and actioned upon
  • Partner with brand copy and product copy teams when needed to ensure consistent messaging
  • Use latest performance metrics and testing to inform content and copy strategy and execution

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • A confident, versatile writer who can easily master new brand voices and deliver beautiful copy, quickly
  • Experience executing SEO strategies and copy is a must
  • Experience working in and establishing CX workflows in fashion or retail ecommerce is a must
  • Experience writing digital advertising campaigns—website, email, organic & paid social copy—is preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to function within deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong conceptual skills with knowledge of how copy relates to a customer’s experience and digital designs is highly desirable
  • Ability to represent Ralph Lauren Agency in meetings with stakeholders from across the company
  • A personal passion for digital luxury and fashion retail
  • Computer literate, proficiency with standard suite of digital software and social media
  • Ad Agency experience a plus
