Position Overview

Assistant Designer, Purple Label Men’s Footwear will assist and support the Purple Label Design Lead

with daily functions from initial concept design through to production. This role will have a strong focus

on technical design and development. Looking for a designer who has excitement and passion for the

Purple Label brand and men’s footwear as a category. Candidate should be extremely detail oriented

with strong technical knowledge of footwear construction and materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of seasonal men’s footwear collections

• Create hand sketches, digital renderings and technical drawings

• Prepare and update detailed tech packs, spec sheets and cads for factory communication

• Seasonally compile trend and competitor research

• Assist in designing for special projects outside of the seasonal design calendar

• Prep samples and protos for review, take notes in design meetings and capture all updates to designs

• Follow seasonal design calendar, ensuring samples are on time for each step of design process

• Maintain a footwear library including trims, materials, protos, samples and vintage inspiration

• Support Design Lead in other areas of Purple Label design when calendar allows

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Footwear Design, Accessory Design, Industrial Design or a related field preferred

• Experience in footwear design, ideally within the luxury category

• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, 3D rendering skills a plus

• Working knowledge of footwear construction, materials and production methods

• Excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills

• Detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and work on multiple seasons at once

• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

• Passion for craftsmanship, heritage design, luxury aesthetics and the Purple Label brand
