TITLE:
Senior Designer, Luxury Accessories
DUTIES:
Develop luxury leather goods collections for men’s and women’s (including bags, belts, small leather goods, and home goods) in line with the world of Ralph Lauren. Research trends and come up with strong concepts and ideas, maintaining a unique and sophisticated aesthetic. Develop new designs for the main collections, as well as for bespoke and special projects (VIP, limited collections, etc.). Research and propose innovative ideas for impactful color and material animations, using sketching, renderings, and 3D software. Work closely with the Merchandiser, so that the range is aligned and developed as a coherent and consistent collection. Work closely with R&D team for research, product development and sampling. Actively participate in the bespoke experiences, supporting the Bespoke Manager in guiding the client. Support the creative side of the business across all departments.

SALARY:
$121,160 - $161,444/yr.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree or equivalent in Fashion Design, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in the offered position or closely related role. Requires 5 years of experience with the following: designing handbags (to include: crossbody, hobo, waist bags, totes, mini bags, evening bags, minaudieres, and novelty shapes), small leather goods (to include: wallets, coin purses, leather trays, watch holders, bill folds, card cases, and tech accessories), belts, and soft accessories (gloves, hats, and scarves); communicating design through sketches (small thumbnail sketches and life sized), computer rendering, and 3D mockups; working with international and domestic factories including communicating directly with pattern makers via email, video calls, and meetings on the kind of attitude wanted in the design; creating technical design packs using industry vernacular for bags, small leather goods, belts, and soft accessories and technical packages that include sketches, computer renderings, measurements and product specifications done to scale; working with European tanneries, identifying high quality leathers, and selecting appropriate leather qualities for different types of constructions; using and creating novelty fabrications on different types of constructions and material selection for different types of non-leather materials for handbags, small leather goods, and belts; draping a pattern and making patterns both by hand using industrial sewing machine (Juki or similar) and home machine; designing and creating technical specifications for functioning hardware pieces for all bag types, small leather goods, and belts both by hand and using computer imaging software; assorting a product line that is balanced in functions, silhouette, and color; working on runway shows to adjust, fix, and fit product and working on photoshoots styling bags, belts, and small leather goods as intended/appropriate for the brand; and presenting to executive team members (owners, CEO, CFO, COO, Creative Directors etc.) seasonal concepts and new constructions for all product categories.
