Position Overview

The Manager of Business Planning & Analytics will support the development and execution of data-driven strategies to optimize performance and growth across markets. This role focuses on aligning short-term financial objectives with long-term business goals through budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes. By leveraging retail and financial expertise, the incumbent will ensure alignment between market priorities, APAC regional strategies, and global directives. The role emphasizes collaboration, actionable insights, and operational excellence to drive revenue and profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Analyze sales and margin data to identify trends and insights into the market. Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting process by gathering input from various departments and ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Develop and maintain planning models to forecast sales-related metrics.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management that summarize findings, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights on operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with finance, merchandising, retail, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on business objectives and strategies.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with IT and business leaders to develop long-term strategic plans that align technology initiatives with business objectives. Assess the impact of technology on overall business strategy.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to understand competitive dynamics, customer preferences, and economic factors affecting the APAC regions.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and suggesting process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business planning and analytics functions. This involves continuously seeking ways to streamline processes and improve the quality of data analysis and reporting.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support decision-making processes.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SAP, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Oracle).

  • Strong written and verbal communication to interact with various stakeholders.

  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.

  • 5-7 years or above of experience in business analysis, financial planning, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.

  • Understanding of the retail or store planning industry can be beneficial.

  • Experience working with various departments such as marketing, operations, and IT to align business strategies
