Position Overview
The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to perform and coordinate all detail accounting functions and analysis for bank related processes for various entities across Europe. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for providing accounting assistance in support of the closing and reporting process and assisting in the ongoing review of the SOX internal control process, as well as provide support and all required documentation for internal and external audits for the GL Accounting area. The candidate will contribute to the development of continuous process improvement initiatives and best practices through leverage of technology and effective collaboration and communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Prepare daily journal entries and account reconciliations for GL bank accounts
-Work closely with business partners across the region including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax and Sales Audit
-Maintain and review documented procedures and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
-Support of internal and external audits (US GAAP and Statutory) for all Treasury related areas.
-Identification of process improvement and efficiency enhancement opportunities.
-Assist with ad-hoc tasks / projects and as required.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge, Technical Skills and Experience:
-Good written and verbal communication skills in English (other European languages a plus)
-Results orientated, flexible, resourceful, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
-Strong time-management skills, ability to adhere to tight deadlines
-Team player and customer service oriented, « can-do» attitude
-Organized, detail oriented and disciplined in follow through and completion of tasks
-Good understanding of accounting principles
Education and Experience:
-Accounting, finance, business or economics education / qualification
-Proficiency in Excel and fair understanding of general ledger applications (SAP experience a plus)
-Previous 3-5 years of experience in a similar role a plus preferably in a shared service environment
