FUNCTIEOVERZICHT

We are seeking a self-motivated Front End Developer with strong expertise in React Native and modern JavaScript development to build and enhance high-quality mobile applications within the Ralph Lauren Consumer Technology division. This role is primarily focused on frontend development, with opportunities to contribute to backend services using Node.js, work with GraphQL APIs, and support AI-powered experiences through Azure AI integrations. You will help deliver intuitive, performant, and scalable digital experiences that support our consumer-facing technology initiatives.
 
This position requires close collaboration with Product, Design, Engineering, DevOps, and QA teams within an Agile environment to develop engaging mobile features, integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, and support reliable application delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strong frontend engineering skills, a user-focused mindset, and the ability to contribute to backend development tasks in Node.js while helping integrate Azure AI services to enable intelligent, personalized application features.

ESSENTIËLE TAKEN EN VERANTWOORDELIJKHEDEN

• React Native Application Development: Build, enhance, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript, ensuring responsive, performant, and user-friendly experiences.
• Frontend Feature Delivery: Develop reusable UI components, implement application flows, and translate product and design requirements into scalable mobile features aligned with business needs.
• API Integration: Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs into mobile applications, manage data flow efficiently, and collaborate with backend teams to ensure reliable and secure service consumption.
• Node.js Backend Support: Contribute to backend development tasks using Node.js, including building or enhancing lightweight services, supporting API integration needs, and assisting with troubleshooting across the stack.
• Azure AI Integration: Support the implementation of AI-powered application features by integrating Azure AI services and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable intelligent and personalized user experiences.
• Performance Optimization, Testing & Quality: Monitor and improve mobile app performance, write and maintain unit test cases using Jest, debug issues, and work with QA teams to ensure reliable releases through strong testing, defect resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, DevOps, and QA teams in an Agile environment to deliver features on time and support ongoing enhancement of digital products.
• Engineering Best Practices, Security & CI/CD: Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, fix Sonar-reported code smells and maintainability issues, help maintain application security features and secure coding practices, contribute to documentation, and support CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable deployment across frontend and backend components.

ERVARING, VAARDIGHEDEN EN KENNIS

Technical Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience in React Native development using JavaScript and TypeScript to build scalable, high-quality mobile applications.
• Good understanding of React concepts, component-based architecture, state management, navigation, reusable UI development, and mobile performance optimization.
• Experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs into frontend applications and managing secure, efficient client-server communication.
• Working knowledge of Node.js for backend support, API development, service integration, and troubleshooting across frontend and backend components.
• Familiarity with source control, build tools, and CI/CD processes to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, mobile application security features, and maintainable engineering standards.
AI Integration:
• Basic experience integrating Azure AI services or similar AI APIs into applications.
Collaboration & Professional Experience:
• Proven ability to work effectively with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, DevOps, and QA teams in a collaborative Agile environment.
• Good communication skills with the ability to discuss technical solutions clearly and work across cross-functional teams.
• Experience participating in code reviews, following coding standards, and contributing to maintainable, scalable software solutions.
• Professional experience delivering frontend or mobile application features from development through testing, deployment, and production support.
Quality, Testing & Delivery:
• Experience writing and maintaining unit test cases using Jest, supporting broader testing efforts, and resolving Sonar-reported code smells, maintainability issues, and technical debt.
• Knowledge of application security fundamentals, secure coding practices, maintaining security-related features, and supporting CI/CD pipelines for reliable build, test, and deployment workflows.
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ or more years of work experience.
