POSITION OVERVIEW
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Own the Master BOM for assigned designs, including creating the initial BOM with the tech pack and independently updating it from showroom samples through stock approval, OK-to-buy, and production readiness.
· Enter and maintain tech pack milestone dates in PLM, monitor related reporting metrics, and proactively flag risks or delays to the manager and cross-functional partners.
· Develop, track, and follow up on counter-sourced raw materials and components as needed, including fabric, yarn, trims, embellishments, patches, labels, and hangtags.
· Track the development and receipt of showroom samples, identifying issues and partnering with cross-functional teams to support timely resolution.
· Maintain accurate, organized information related to samples, garment deliveries, development issues, and key decisions to ensure clear visibility across the team.
· Input, update, validate, and finalize all product details and costing in PLM, ensuring accuracy and alignment with development and production needs.
· Partner with the manager to help optimize lead times and manage key activities from development through store delivery.
· Build and manage timelines with sourcing offices and vendors for lab dips, raw material sourcing, approvals, and production readiness to ensure deadlines are met.
· Manage development and production costing for assigned products, escalating cost challenges and supporting value-engineering opportunities as needed.
· Collaborate with Technical Design and cross-functional partners to review and analyze the weekly product development WIP report, identify risks, and drive follow-up actions.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Experience in product development, product management, production, or a related function.
· Strong knowledge of the garment manufacturing process, including development milestones, raw materials, costing, and production handoff.
· Knowledge of apparel product development, including experience within the assigned product category and ability to apply category knowledge to support execution.
· Agile, adaptable, solution-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrates curiosity, sound judgment, a strong desire to learn and grow, and an innovative mindset.
· Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Design, Technical Design, Raw Materials, Merchandising, Sourcing Offices, vendors, and factories.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently track product information, identify issues, and drive follow-up.
· Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PLM systems.
· Embodies the CFAs of the RL Brand.
