This role will be based in Bangalore, India.
We are seeking an exceptional Commerce Senior Technical Manager  with 10+ years of experience to lead our transformational journey from monolithic commerce architecture to modern, headless composable commerce solutions. This strategic role combines deep technical expertise with strong people management capabilities, overseeing global development teams while driving enterprise-scale digital commerce initiatives. The successful candidate will manage distributed teams across multiple regions, champion performance optimization, and establish scalable architecture patterns that support our evolving digital commerce platform across Next.js, React, composable frontends, SFCC backend, microservices/APIs, and analytics. 

 This role will play a key part in building the next generation of commerce capabilities, supporting our transition toward Composable Commerce architecture, and strengthening our global commerce engineering capabilities.

Technology Leadership & Architecture 
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to development teams on SFCC platform development.
  • Act as a solution architect and technical advisor for commerce platform initiatives.
  • Guide the team on modern engineering practices, design patterns, and scalable architecture.
  • Lead adoption of Composable Commerce architecture, integrating APIs, microservices, and headless frameworks.
  • Ensure best practices around performance optimization, scalability, and security within the commerce ecosystem.
Engineering Excellence & Capability building 
  • Define and evolve scalable, secure, high-performance commerce architecture using composable principles 
  • Act as solution architect and technical advisor for commerce platform initiatives 
  • Champion Composable Performance optimization and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns 
  • Drive migration strategy from monolithic SFCC to headless composable architecture 
  • Lead adoption of Composable Commerce architecture, integrating APIs, microservices, and headless frameworks 
  • Establish technical standards and best practices for the composable commerce stack 
  • Oversee development of Next.js (React) front-end applications with focus on performance and user experience 
  • Guide implementation of DXP (Digital Experience Platform) design patterns and Storybook component libraries 
  • Manage integration strategies between Contentful CMS, Harper Cloud, and SFCC SCAPI APIs 
  • Ensure proper implementation of cloud-native database solutions on edge computing infrastructure 
  • Drive adoption of CI/CD practices, release governance, and quality assurance frameworks.
Delivery and Technology Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a global, multidisciplinary development organization spanning multiple time zones (North America, India, and other regions) 
  • Manage 6+ developers in India while coordinating with international development teams 
  • Oversee cross-functional engineering teams including frontend, backend, performance, analytics, and release management 
  • Represent Composable Commerce Engineering at leadership and executive levels, providing technical vision and strategic direction 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence across 
  • Ability to work in the globally distributed delivery model  efficiently .
  • Partner closely with Product and Program leadership on enterprise-scale digital commerce initiatives 
  • Ensure predictable delivery of product features, enhancements, and platform improvements 
  • Provide regular delivery updates, risk assessments, and progress reports to stakeholders 
  • Continuously improve development velocity, code quality, and engineering productivity.

ZKUŠENOSTI, DOVEDNOSTI A ZNALOSTI

Composable Commerce & Frontend Technologies 
  • SFCC Development - Proven experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware) development and ISML front-end 
  • Next.js (React) Expertise - Deep understanding of server-side rendering, static generation, and performance optimization 
  • DXP Design & Storybook - Experience with design system implementation and component library management 
  • Harper Cloud Data Access - Understanding of cloud data access patterns and edge computing 
  • CMS Integration - Experience with headless CMS architecture, content modeling, and data pipelines 
  • Frontend Integrations - Subject matter expertise in API integrations and microservices architecture 

Cloud & Infrastructure 
  • Akamai Routing Configuration as Code - Experience with CDN configuration and infrastructure as code practices 
  • Cloud Data Pipelines - Knowledge of cloud data pipeline architecture and implementation 
  • CMS Pipelines/Webhooks - Understanding of content delivery automation and event-driven architecture 
Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field 
  • 12+ years of software development experience with strong focus on digital commerce platforms 
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and leading technology delivery in distributed environments 
  • 3+ years in technical leadership roles with proven experience managing global development teams 
  • Strong background in e-commerce platform development and digital transformation initiatives 
  • Deep expertise in full-stack development across frontend and backend technologies 
  • Experience with microservices architecture and API-first development approaches 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders 
  • Experience working with global stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in relevant technical field 
  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C implementation and migration projects 
  • Previous experience in retail or fashion industry 
  • Certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) 
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies in distributed team environments 
  • Background in performance optimization for high-traffic e-commerce applications 
  • Analytics platform integration experience
  • Experience working with global stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams.
