Pay Range: The pay range for this job is $20.6 - $33 per hour; actual pay is dependent on experience and geographic location. We will meet minimum wage and/or any other applicable legal pay requirements based on city, county, and state requirements.

POSITION OVERVIEW


The Assistant Buyer, Home supports the Buying Managers across all Home categories. This role is responsible for purchase order execution, product data accuracy, vendor coordination, reporting, & data analysis. The Assistant Buying role supports the development and execution of seasonal assortments across Home categories, partnering cross-functionally to drive sales, optimize inventory, and uphold the brand’s elevated aesthetic across all channels. This role is responsible for managing product lifecycle process, ensuring operational excellence and a seamless customer experience both in-store and online. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Buying Management
  • Support the development of seasonal assortments and investment strategies across Home categories
  • Assist in buying, order management, and performance tracking
  • Monitor sales, inventory, and margin performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Execute markdowns and price changes in alignment with business strategy

Reporting & Business Analysis
  • Prepare and support Weekly Business Review presentations across all channels and categories, delivering insights on sales performance and business needs
  • Analyze monthly store and category trends to inform merchandising strategies and inventory allocation on monthly store calls with management
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and sell-through

Ecommerce & Site Merchandising
  • Conduct regular site audits to ensure accuracy in pricing, product details, imagery, and assortment visibility
  • Maintain product data integrity within internal systems, ensuring SKUs are correctly attributed and aligned to collections
  • Manage digital assortment to ensure product is accurately represented and optimized for conversion

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Merchandising Operations and Brand Image teams to ensure timely product setup, photography, and launch readiness
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing to align product availability with campaign timing, ensuring adequate inventory for key initiatives

Store Support & Execution
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate merchandising execution, inventory needs, and customer experience
  • Support floor sets and room change from planning through installation, including system entry and coordination with stores

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE


  • 1–3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or product coordination preferred
  • Experience in home, furnishings, or luxury retail strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, and reliable reporting and data management
  • Advanced Excel and retail math skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and urgent follow‑ups
  • Clear written and verbal communication with vendors and partners
  • Collaborative, organized, and solutions‑oriented
  • Basic understanding of the product lifecycle
  • Systems and tools: GFE+, Island Pacific, Microstrategy, SAP, Product Data Hub
  • Interest in product, craftsmanship, and the home furnishings market
