Position Overview

To drive sales and nurture a mutually profitable relationship with retail partners by setting and implementing business strategies that benefit the overall brand.  Account Planning will partner with the sales/planning teams as well as finance partners to establish overall business strategies by account and execute and establish financial goals and retail plans.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy and Execution by Account

    • Partner with Sales Team to establish overall business strategies by account, develop and execute seasonal sales/receipt plans by account, meet internal & external sales and profit goals

    • Hindsight the business at an account level and develop assortment strategies that align to the business need

    • Analyze regional assortments by account and provide merchandise planning and sales insight for future buys

    • Develop and implement assortment plans for all product categories to support the financial strategy. 

    • Partner with Sales to ensure seasonal assortment plans meet the business objectives and needs for each account in collaboration with Buyer. 

    • Ensure high level of professional and proactive communication with all levels of account management structure to drive business towards plan achievement. 

  • Strategic Financial Planning Process 

    • Collaborate with Sales and the accounts to prepare the financial class plans and flow. 

    • Validate all finalized class plans with prior to building assortments. 

  • Assortment Planning Process 

    • Review account orders immediately following market 

  • Analysis and Forecasting Process

    • Weekly account performance analysis. (BSR, Fashion and Fashion Basics)

    • Bi-monthly meetings to review account sales performance. 

  • Reporting Process 

    • Prepare account recaps and review with prior to management meetings

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelors Degree 

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of retail assortment planning or buying experience required in the apparel industry 

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Strong computer skills

  • Self-motivated and organized 

  • Strong product knowledge in premium segment of apparel industry
