Position Overview

The District Store Leader is accountable for driving business performance, operational excellence, and talent development across multiple Ralph Lauren retail locations within a designated geographic area. This role requires a blend of strategic business acumen and strong leadership skills to achieve exceptional results while maintaining Ralph Lauren’s iconic brand standards and values. By inspiring and empowering teams, this leader ensures that every store operates with excellence and that team members feel valued, connected, and aligned with the Ralph Lauren employee experience and culture of inclusivity, collaboration and belonging.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Strategy:
  • Drive district sales targets and operational KPIs (Conversion, Units Per Transaction (UPT), Payroll, In Stock On Shelf (ISOS), Customer Associate (CA) ratio)
  • Create and execute district business strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Monitor and manage district operational budgets and shrink goals
  • Partner with corporate teams (Buyers, Planners, Allocations, Visual) to optimize business performance
  • Execute promotional strategies supporting sales, marketing, and profit objectives
  • Maintain market awareness through competitive analysis

People Leadership & Development:
  • Inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leaders.
  • Drive engagement and foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Develop succession plans and career paths.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning across the district
  • Partner with People Team (HR) on employee relations and compliance.
  • Recognize and reward performance to maintain morale.
  • Promote open communication and feedback channels to strength employee relationships and build trust.
  • Lead change effectively and align team goals with company objectives.

Customer Experience & Operations:
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional customer service across all locations. Training teams on service expectations and regularly evaluating behaviors and providing feedback.
  • Manage District P&L effectively and optimize cost-efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain visual merchandising and brand standards
  • Oversee store compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures
  • Leverage data insights, such as Customer Voices feedback, to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted initiatives to address them. Establish recognition programs to celebrate positive customer service and encourage best practices.
  • Develop strategies to anticipate and respond to customer needs swiftly, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. Build and nurture a customer-centric culture that prioritizes loyalty and satisfaction across all interactions.
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional customer service across all locations by setting clear standards and expectations.
  • Train teams on service expectations, regularly evaluate behaviors, and provide actionable feedback to enhance service quality.

Cross-functional Partnership:
  • Collaborate with Head of Stores on strategic initiatives providing ideas and initiatives to enhance performance.
  • Partner with corporate teams to resolve operational challenges and find solutions for enhanced efficiencies within store.
  • Cascade company communications effectively throughout district, ensuring full understanding and supporting company initiatives
  • Build strong relationships across channels to maximize business opportunities
  • Collaborate with human resources to drive employee engagement initiatives and support talent acquisition within the district.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • 8+ years retail management experience with 5+ years multi-unit leadership
  • Proven track record of driving business results and developing teams
  • Strong understanding of retail metrics and financial performance indicators
  • Excellence in team development and succession planning
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel within assigned district, up to 75% of time
  • Flexibility to work retail hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in retail management systems and MS Office Suite
